The Three Stooges started in Vaudeville in the 1920's. Moe, Curly, and Shemp were Howard brothers, but Larry wasn't related. They produced comedy shorts for Columbia Pictures in the 30's & 40's. In the late 50's, TV reruns of their old 'shorts' became popular with kid audiences.
